Developed a custom WooCommerce plugin to enable localized purchasing, ensuring customers could conveniently order items from their nearest store.
Vital to this project was addressing limitations in shipping large products across the country while also improving customer convenience and logistical efficiency.
The challenge with this project came from a retail store emerging into the online e-commerce world and how we manage stock across over 14+ branches. Unique to this project was certain items, because of their weight and size, affected shipping.
My job was to create a WordPress and WooCommerce plugin that kept stock per product per branch. This allows users to select their location and shop seamlessly by their nearest store.
Next was ensuring each branch independently ran smoothly. Every branch manager had access to what orders were placed for their store with the ability to package, ship and complete their orders within WooCommerce while not having to manage the products individually or their stock levels.
This required the development of branch emails, new order statuses as well a ready-for-in-store collection option with customer notifications.
